Designer Sally Sohn, studied composition in Korea before pursuing gemology at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in the United States. She began her career as a branded jewelry designer in Los Angeles, where she became known for her bold statement pieces that pair vibrant colored stones with unconventional materials.

In 2007, Sally Sohn debuted at Bergdorf Goodman in New York as the first Korean jewelry brand to do so, earning acclaim in the mainstream high jewelry scene as a leading Korean label. Her Ancient Beads Collection—featuring authentic beads from the Roman and Byzantine eras combined with her own stone designs and strung on elastic bands—set sales record in fine jewelry and was selected as one of Bergdorf Goodman’s Top 3 Fine Jewelry collections in 2011. Through its graceful fusion of tradition and modernity, the Ancient Beads collection was admired and cherished by distinguished figures such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Natalie Portman, Michelle Obama, and members of royal families across Europe and the Middle East.

Expansion and Artists Collaboration

Sally Sohn has established herself as a prominent Korean jeweler within the mainstream jewelry scene, with her collections showcased at prestigious retailers such as Bergdorf Goodman in New York, Neiman Marcus, and Lane Crawford in Hong Kong. She garnered significant recognition through her collaboration with Monster Audio, producing the limited-edition Monster Diamond Tears crafted from 18K gold and diamonds. Inspired by her collaboration with artist Hong Kyoung Tack, renowned for his pencil-based artworks, Sally Sohn developed the Pencil Collection into her signature line. Furthermore, her partnership with LG Electronics brought attention to the exquisite craftsmanship of bespoke jewelry, showcasing its perfection on high-definition monitors. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, Sally Sohn expanded her retail presence in Korea by opening stores in major department stores including Hannam Store, Shinsegae Gangnam, and Hyundai Pangyo. In November 2024, she was featured in Vogue as one of the "Four Leading High Jewelers Shaping the Era of K-Jewelry," in recognition of her unique
aesthetic.
